Dead fest

Bewitched Deeluxe
Found some awesome buys at Wal-Mart in the clearance movies today, and my sister was in a splurgy mood, so I now own Dawn of the Dead (the recent remake with Sara Polley) and Land of the Dead.

Which I watched, back to back.  In a big creaky house all by myself.

Well, not completely by myself.  Max kept me company.

Once again, shadows flickering at the corner of my vision leave me paranoid.  Walking by an open window or door with glass in it makes me nervous.  And I ain't going outside in the dark if you paid me.  That's right, it's my one phobia- zombies!

I know zombie movies will scare me.  I know that they'll make me into a seven year old girl walking through the house in the dark.  I know they'll keep me awake with every sound from outside the house and every creak within it.  I know that a fear of the animated living dead is irrational as can be.  But still I watch them, somehow usually alone at night.  Why?

Because they scare me.  And we must face our fears, right?

Now if you'll partdon me I'm going to go reckeck the locks on all the doors, climb under the covers, hug my dog very tightly and try to let my rational mind override my horror movie survival instincts :)

Watch Shaun of the Dead to balance it all out :) still some scary bits, but it's difficult to be as scared of the zombies when you're so busy laughing.

Good point... somehow Shaun never seems to scare me, much like Army of Darkness :)

Heh! I do the same thing! I *lurve* horror movies though they scare the crap outta me, leave me sleepless and then finally with nightmares. Lord...after I watched The Blair Witch Project for the first time in the theatre, I was up all night LOL. It's not the monster movies that get me...it's the ones that leave it to your imagination. Cause believe me, my mind can come up with much worse than any Hollywood Budget can :)

Serpent and the Rainbow will scare the living HELL out of you. I won't watch it anymore, because it's basedon a true story

and I live in the land of Haitians. *shivers*

Fuck facing your fears. I am quite content in screaming like a little bitch and running the other way.
